Fuori col singolo Bouncy Castle Dino Brandão comincia la sua nuova avventuta solista. Dopo il progetto Brandao Faber Hunger, il cantautore di origini angolane ma nato e cresciuto in Svizzera, si mette in gioco per mostrare il suo talento
Il Bouncy Castle della canzone non è altro che la vita rappresentata da un castello gonfiabile “pieno di lacrime e risate”. Una riflessione profonda scaturita dalla scoperta della sclerosi multipla. Da qui la scelta di parlare di sé, della sua visione del mondo e delle emozioni che ne scaturiscono. Bouncy Castle è stato registrato e prodotto dalla stesso Dino Brandão, mixato da Bertrand Siffert (The Young Gods, Sophie Hunger) si tratta di un brano fondalmente pop nella maniera più nobile. Un sound sospeso fra tradizione e modernità, suoni intrisi di malinconia ma anche di speranza.
Il video di Bouncy Castle, diretto da Jeremiah & Fred Mortagne, presenta Dino Brandão nel suo passaggio da ragazzo ad adulto, sempre con lo skateboard, un mezzo fondamentale da sempre per l’artista che ti permette di volare e cadere proprio come accade nella vita. Abbiamo voluto fare a Dino Brandão qualche domanda per farci spiegare da lui la consapevolezza che accompagna il suo progetto solista.
Hi Dino, your latest single “Bouncy Castle” marks your path as an independent and free artist. How did you arrive at this milestone?
Ciao Dino, il tuo ultimo singolo “Bouncy Castle” segna il tuo cammino di artista indipendente e libero. Come sei arrivato a questo traguardo?
I’m a dreamer. I’ve had great support from my friends and family. And well I’ve spent a couple of years in a cave looking for sound,
I’ve spent all my money on instruments and gear, I’ve worked my hours filled with love and and finally I’ve found a team that believes
in me and my craft 🙂 I’m as indie as it gets – tho I wouldn’t consider myself as free. None of us is much.
Did the awareness of your illness inspire you to share your mood in music? How did you manage to make this step?
La consapevolezza della tua malattia ti ha dato ispirazione per condividere il tuo stato d’animo in musica? Come sei riuscito a fare questo passaggio?
I’ve always been very open about my biography if one asked… I think taboos poison the soul and the less we stick to them – the better. As a solo artist I couldn’t help but writing out of the deepest mist of my inside and I realised that it just feels very good to do so.
If you have to convince a boy or a girl to discover skateboarding what would you tell them?
Se dovessi convincere un ragazzo o una ragazza a scoprire la pratica dello skateboard cosa gli diresti?
You can learn all you need in life on that piece of wood. It’ll hurt but pushing around is as close to freedom as one can get. Plus if you keep on doing it you’ll have friends and a couch around the globe just for the sake of being skating and life will be rich and easier on a long term.

Are you planning an album? Will there be, despite the limitations due to Covid, to see you alive?
Hai in progetto un album? Ci sarà la possibilità, malgrado le limitazioni dovute al Covid, di vedertipresto dal vivo?
My first EP will be released in November, juhuu 🙂 things evolved down in my cave – so I want to take all the time it takes to make my sweet smashin’ debut album 🙂 I might do a second EP before that. And yes – I want to come see you all, so if all goes well there will be a first little EU-Tour soonish.
